Can You Trust Autoresponders?

By: Matt Bacak

How do you trust that an Autoresponder will do what it is supposed to do?
Answer: I just trust that it will do what it is supposed to do. I have been using Autoresponders for years and trust them. But note that they don't always do what they are supposed to do. This is why in my Autoresponder sequences I never say something like, Hey, expect an email from me tomorrow. Why? Because the Autoresponder might send it out the next day or the recipient's computer is down and they don't receive the email until a later date.

You don't want the customer to have an expectation of receiving your email at a specific time because it could be delayed due to things out of your control. The customer may never know that the Autoresponder malfunctioned and may blame you for the delay. This delay may also alter their perception of you and your products. They might think your products are of lower quality and/or that they can't trust you.

Avoid this sticky situation by never having specific time references in your Autoresponder sequence. Or at least limit time references to select situations.

But for the most part, don't worry about your Autoresponder doing its job. The majority of the time it will. Plus, you can't waste time worry about something that is out of your control. Instead, you should spend your time focusing on tasks that will make you money.

Why does ARP 3 not come bundled with a shopping cart like some of the other systems? Why does Fat Jack Hosting not offer a bundle with AutoResponse Plus and DL Guard?

Answer: First you have to understand that AutoResponse Plus is an Autoresponder system. A shopping cart program is a shopping cart system. Notice that they are both systems. Each system has its strengths. It is tricky to bundle these systems together into one program. Weaknesses in one of the systems always surfaces.

Think about it this way. Have you ever met somebody who says they can do everything in the world? Then you give them something to do and they don't do a very good job. However, they are very good in some areas. These programs are this way. This is why there is no bundle solution that is the ultimate choice.

Everybody has tried to create an ultimate system, but it always seems to slack in certain areas. I use 1Shopping Cart and Infusion. Infusion is great and has an Autoresponder, but the Autoresponder part of the system is not good so I have to use AutoResponse Plus for that task. In a way, I duct tape things together and use the strong features of each program.
