Craig Ferguson Tickets - The King of Late, Late Night Comedy

By: Brent Warnken

As one of many late night hosts, Craig Ferguson added his own version of the Conan O'Brien/ Jay Leno debacle in his taped Friday night skit that parodied MythBusters while paying tribute to his fellow red-haired late night host in his own way (according to Entertainment Weekly). The show stacked against NBC with the philosophy "This is working...so blow it up!" The eccentric late night host hasn't gotten as much attention as his friends, but Ferguson has long been in the spotlight for his comedic antics. "Awesomeness may rub off," Ferguson added as he introduced the MythBusters segment, sliding into jokes about the single "You're a Jerk" to Pamela Anderson's sex tape and even Hitler. How? With his fast-paced, Scottish accent that goes from story to ADD style jokes. The international man might be on the right track, as he racked up the largest audience since the premiere week, reported TV by the Numbers. The ratings came during the same week during all the NBC drama (but luckily for Ferguson his show airs on CBS).

Ferguson and his earlier timeslot counterpart David Letterman has been in discussions with CBS Corporation for contract extensions that are set to run "deep into 2012," revealed Nina Tassler, President of CBS Entertainment during a Pasadena, Calif. press conference in early January. The schedule was given some leeway as the NBC debacle went down, and deals were made with caution. "We're very close to a deal," Tassler added, and Letterman "is handling a deeply personal issue with grace." The NBC situation could have O'Brien moving his Tonight Show to a new network - perhaps to CBS: "ABC, CBS and FOX, we've all fared, I think, very well during this experimental phase for NBC."

Ferguson was born in Glasgow, Scotland. Originally a musician "performing for some of the worst punk bands in the UK," as his website goes, he took up acting following a chance meeting with the Tron Theater's artistic director Michael Boyd. The result was several years of struggles before he realized he was funny - and opened up on BBC Television as the star of his own show, The Ferguson Theory.

He moved to America and honed his acting skills in short-lived sitcoms and films, including the 2003 feature I'll Be There, which also marked his directorial debut. He has since starred in features like Chain of Fools, Born Romantic and Life without Dick, all of which showcase this Scotsman's comedic ability.

In January 2005 Ferguson took over the late night reign with his The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, a favorite of lovers of comedy and actors like Kristen Bell (in which she has appeared 10 times and remarks, "When you do those shows, all they want is for you not to be boring. If you sit there and talk about your 'craft,' people turn off the TV").

After his first year with late night television, Ferguson wrote the novel Between the Bridge and the River and accepted his first Emmy nomination. Two years later he officially became a United States citizen, with plans to debut his new Harper Collins memoir American On Purpose.
