I Want a Rhinoplasty, But I Can't Afford it. What Can I Do?

By: Christian Heftel

In today's day and age, there are a lot of people who want to get the aesthetic benefits of cosmetic surgeries. Unfortunately, there are also a lot of people who are having a hard time affording them because of economic problems. And it's certain that a lot of people all over the country, whether they live in Montana or New York are hurting a little financially. The recent recession has certainly taken a bit of a toll on the cosmetic surgery industry.

Some people decide that the mature and responsible choice is simply to wait until they feel that they can afford the surgery. However, there are also some people who feel like that would require waiting too long and find this unacceptable.

For people who are absolutely dead set on getting a cosmetic surgery that they they can't afford out of pocket, there are some alternatives. One can, for example, sometimes get a form of financing to help pay for the surgery.

Now, a person should obviously think carefully about accruing large amounts of debt for the purposes of funding a luxury purchase such as a rhinoplasty or nose job. However, for people who decide that this is what they want, the option is available.

Getting some form of financing for a cosmetic surgery is relatively common, so the good news is there's a decent chance that you'll be able to get it. In fact, a number of cosmetic surgeons offer a form of in-house financing. This is probably the easiest method. You can simply find out at the doctor's office whether or not you qualify. No more hunting is required.

However, going with the in-house financing may not ultimately be the best solution, even if it is the easiest. Sometimes in-house financing has higher interest rates, so you may be able to find a better deal elsewhere. Also, some doctors simply don't have in-house financing, so this solution doesn't work everywhere.

You might consider asking your doctor if he or she has a good suggestion for other places that you could contact. Many doctors are on good terms with at least one or two local financial institutions. This could increase your chances of being able to borrow with them, and it does ensure that those businesses are willing to fund elective surgeries.

If nothing is working out on a local level, there are some alternatives on a national level. Ask your doctor about these. Chances are good that at least some of his patients have used one of these larger corporations before.
