Filters. Do we need them? What are they good for? How many species are tehre? Are some better than others? How do you know whih one to use and why?

Lot of questions. Let's hope that by the time you finish reading this, you will have a few answers to go along with thse isssues.

In fact, the most common way to use filters to protect the caamera lens, some of which are very delicate. Most photograpers use either a UV-1A or 1B filter for this purpose. For example, if a thin lens gets hit too much sun, UV light can damage the lens. UV filetr retains that special light coming from the lens. It's kind of the basic wear sunglasses so your eyes do not get damaged Sun

But theree are also other typews of filters that can be used, haviing nothing to do with the protection of your lens, but in obtaining certain types of effects to your photos.

First, we have what is called the correection filters. There are many different tyes of filters, correxction and, although we can not go on each type, we look at a few just to give you an idea of what they are doign.

One example of the correction filter, green filter. It is used for back and whte film because this film is less sensitive to red ligght than the human eye. To rmedy this, we use a light-green filter, though a yellow filter can be used.

There are actually many different color fiilters, depending on the type of shot that you're going for. If you've ever wacthed movires with scenes seemingly shot to make the scene look like brright blue, this is done trhough the use of color filters. This is one of the most common filters used for photogrpahy, as in photography and in film and teleivsion.

Another type of filter, which is very common so-called temperature of the filter. These filters are used for production or cooling or heating effect. One example would be the use of photgraphs takn on a very cold snowy winyter day. Filter warming will be used to give a shot a warmer effect, deespite the snow on the groudn.

Effects filters are widely used by photographers who are looking to add some Zip to your photos, to make them less soft. These effcts include such thiings as a burst of star formation and diffusion. Care should be taken on the impact of the use of filters, bcause they can become tedious after a while. The commbination of certan consequences can be very effective.

Poplarizing filtrs are used to redcue the reflection of lighht from different sources, such as the Sun Tehse filters actually produce exaggerated clor saturation in an image. Therefore, they should be used cautiously. While tazking photos with these filters, they must be turned in wihle you observe the inmage to get the desireed effect.

This is the most common types of filters, but there are others. Experimenting with each can get a very good idea of the types that can be obtained from your camera. Before you know it, you'll take pictures for NASA.
